Bryan Mitschelen Obituary

Bryan M. "Tex" Mitschelen, 40, of Elkhart, IN, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at 11:44 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Bryan was born on June 4, 1982, in Goshen, IN.  Bryan is survived by his mother and step father, Candace and Kevin Campbell of Mishawaka; his father and step mother, Jeffery and Donna Mitschelen of Goshen; his children, Jonathan Mitschelen and Aviendha Mitschelen both of Middlebury, IN.; his fiancée, Kari Elliott of Elkhart; his sister, Kimberly Mitschelen of Nappanee, IN; his step-sister, Maureen Donovan (Karl Teskey) of Vancouver, WA; his two brothers, Richard (Jessica) Mitschelen of Niles, MI and Christopher Mitschelen of Indianapolis, IN.; and his step-brother Sean (Sara) Donovan of Elkhart; and the mother of his children Rodesha Wildrick of Middlebury, IN.  Bryan is also survived by his four dogs, Sophia, Presley, Lucy and Cookie.

Bryan was a very fun loving and artistic person. Halloween was his favorite holiday, and with his wild imagination he could create any costume. His favorite medium was duct tape, cardboard and paint. Some of his creations were a working slot machine, characters from The Legend of Zelda, Groot, and was in the process of making himself a Thor costume complete with hammer.  He made birthday cakes for his kids with game themes, like Plants vs Zombies. He loved gardening and the outdoors.  He spent the last several spring's perfecting his Jurassic pot creations representing scenes from the Jurassic Park movies.  He loved reading. His favorite books were The Hobbit and Wheel of Time series. He liked all kinds of music, from Celtic to Big Band, to Ella Fitzgerald. He loved playing his guitar, and he used his love of music as a way to bond with others.  Coworkers became friends through his passion for music.  It made his day to play Disney music for the kids who came in his store.  He earned the name "Tex Tinstar" in high school when he made a comic book with himself as the main character. The name stuck, and he was known forever more as "Tex". The world has lost an incredibly talented man. He was so loved and will be missed more than words can ever say.
