Carl H. Kaser, 72 years old, passed away at 1:26 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Center
for Hospice, Mishawaka. Carl was born on July 26, 1949 in LaPorte, IN to the late Howard and
Reatha (Hazelip) Kaser. He has remained a lifelong resident of North Liberty. On February
15, 2002 in St. Lucia, Carl and Patricia A. (Weil) Wood were united in marriage.
Along with Pat, his loving wife for the past 20 years, Carl is survived by his five children,
Andrea (Tony) Favilla of Granger, Melissa Konkol of Mishawaka, Jason Kaser of North Liberty,
Shannon Kaser of Edwardsburg, MI and Jacob Kaser of South Bend; two step-children,
Michelle (Chris) Wood-Voglund of West Lafayette and Rodney (Jackie) Wood of LaPaz; 11
grandchildren, Isabel, Nicholas, Jalen, Carter, Hudson, Lily, Autry, Justin, Rosemary, Iris and
Meadow; one great grandchild, Gianni; and two sisters, Juanita Fisher of North Liberty and
Theda Nixon of South Bend. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Margo J.
Underly of Mishawaka. Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two brothers,
Dean and Dale Kaser; and Jacob’s mother, Susan Carrico; and was also preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Hatala.
Carl was the owner and operator of Kaser’s Auction Service for over 53 years. He worked at
A.M. General for 33 years where he served as Union Chairman from 1996-2002. Carl
volunteered his time auctioning and fundraising over the past 50 years for dozens of non-
profit organizations including March of Dimes, United Way, Reigns of Life, Center for the
Homeless, Make a Wish, and WNIT.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Palmer Funeral
Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN.
Graveside services and burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may
visit with the family from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Palmer Funeral Home in
Lakeville. Friends may also visit with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday prior to
the service.
