Carol Lynn Carter (Boyd), 70, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on March 19, 2026, at Signature Healthcare of Bremen.
Carol was born on February 11, 1956, in Warren, Michigan, to Henry Carter and Bernice Boyd. She made her home in South Bend, where she built a life centered around her family and her work.
Carol was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She spent time as a commercial truck driver and was involved in transportation, working alongside her former husband as part of a team. In addition to her career on the road, Carol also devoted herself to raising her children at home, a role she held close to her heart.
She is survived by her loving children: daughters Brandi Brockwell of South Bend, Indiana; Dawn Spittler of Clarksville, Tennessee; and Crystal (James) Foley of the Philadelphia area; and her son, Robert Sarver of Goshen, Indiana. Carol was a proud grandmother to Scotty Markham and Douglas Cain, who brought her great joy.
Carol is also survived by three sisters and three brothers, along with many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
Carol grew up in the Catholic faith, which remained a part of her life throughout the years.
In accordance with her wishes, no services are being held at this time. Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46614, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Carol will be remembered for her strength, independence, and deep love for her family. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
