Carolyn Zimmerle Obituary

Carolyn Sue Zimmerle, passed away on December 8, 2025, in Niles, MI, at the age of 72. Born on June 5, 1953, in Benton Harbor, MI, Carolyn’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and community service.

Carolyn was the beloved daughter of the late John Anderson and Mary Helen Johnson. She was the loving wife of the late Gregg Zimmerle, who preceded her in death. Carolyn's memory will be treasured by her caring sister, Mary Speckine; her supportive sister-in-law, Patricia Anderson; and her brother, James Anderson and sister Patricia Rene Anderson. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William "Bill" Anderson and her parents, John Anderson and Mary Helen Johnson. Her spirit will live on through the numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and the great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews who were fortunate to experience her kindness and love.

Carolyn was a proud graduate of Buchanan high school, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed a strong sense of community. Her work in the hospitality industry was marked by her dedication and hard work, traits that she carried into every aspect of her life.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Carolyn was deeply involved in her community, particularly with the Meals on Wheels program at the Buchanan Senior Center. Her commitment to ensuring that the elderly members of her community were cared for was unwavering. She also played a crucial role as a birthday bingo at the Senior Center, bringing joy and entertainment to many.

A woman of many interests, Carolyn's love for Cracker Barrel was well-known among her family and friends. It was a place of many cherished memories, as she and her family gathered there monthly to enjoy each other's company and the comfort of good food.

Carolyn's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, care, and community service. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will continue to inspire acts of kindness and a commitment to community, just as she lived her life. Carolyn Sue Zimmerle's legacy will endure in the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched throughout her meaningful journey on this earth.
