Carolyn "Carol" Lee Hummer

MISHAWAKA, IN – Carolyn “Carol” Lee Hummer of Mishawaka died Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Golden Living Center.  She was born May 22, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Carl E. and Ellen M. (Johnson) Hummer. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Schlemmer. Carolyn is survived by her sister, Sharron Stoner of Granger, IN. and nephews, Gene Stoner of CA; Paul (Susan) Schlemmer of NY; Marcus (Jen) Schlemmer of NY; and great nephew, Ryan Lopez of NY; along with her best friend Mrs. Regina Wozny.

Carolyn was a graduate of Riley High School.  She worked for the City of South Bend and was the receptionist for Sisters of St. Francis Health Systems for 13 years before retiring in 2005.

She loved and taught ballroom dancing and enjoyed TV re-runs of Lawrence Welk musical programs. She loved teasing and laughing with her family.  She will be dearly missed.

There will be no services at this time.  Family may gather privately at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to Evangel Heights United Methodist Church 114 N.
