Charlene Rose (Mead) Flack

Charlene Rose Flack, age 65, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on July 1, 2026, in Elkhart.

Born on February 21, 1961, in St. Joseph, Michigan, Charlene was the daughter of the late Harry Paul Mead and Irene (Kuball) Mead. She grew up with the values of hard work, kindness, and devotion to family that would remain with her throughout her life. Those who knew her will remember a woman with a fighting spirit, a warm heart, and a quiet strength that touched the lives of many.

Charlene was united in marriage to John Charles Flack, who preceded her in death. Together, they shared a life built on love, family, and the everyday moments that become the most treasured memories. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she took great pride in the family she helped nurture and support through the years.

She is survived by her sons, Kyle Flack and his wife Tonyelle of Elkhart, Indiana, and John Flack and his wife Elizabeth of Granger, Indiana. Charlene also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Calvin and Cally Flack, who brought great joy to her life. She is also survived by her brother, Chuck Mead of Baroda, Michigan. In addition to her parents and husband, Charlene was preceded in death by those who went before her and helped shape the family she cherished so deeply.

Charlene enjoyed crocheting and drawing, pastimes that reflected her creativity and patience. Whether she was working on a handmade piece or sketching something from her imagination, she found comfort and expression in creating with her hands. Her talents were a quiet reflection of the care she showed in all areas of life. She appreciated simple pleasures and found meaning in the beauty of everyday moments.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on Monday July 6, 2025 at Palmer Funeral Home-Welsheimer North Chapel 17033 Cleveland Rd.  South Bend, IN 46635.  There will also be a visitation held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with funeral services starting at 11:00 am at the funeral home.  Burial will follow services at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, IN.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
