Christine Marie (Putman) Lima, age 52, of South Bend, Indiana, was born on May 14, 1973, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Timothy Putman and Gail (Crockett) Putman. Christine tragically passed away on February 5, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
On April 22, 2000, Christine married the love of her life, Eduardo Lima, in Elkhart, Indiana. Their marriage was filled with love, music, laughter, and shared adventures. Christine is survived by her devoted husband, Eduardo “Ed” Lima, and her beloved sons, Eduardo Emiliano Lima II and Andreas Wolfgang-Christian Lima, both of South Bend, Indiana.
Christine had a deep and lifelong passion for music and singing. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance from Bethel College, a reflection of both her talent and dedication. Music was not just a skill but a joy she carried into everyday life—especially during karaoke nights out with her husband, which she loved dearly. Known for her unmistakable style, Christine proudly embraced her goth aesthetic and had a legendary love for clothes shopping. She was unapologetically herself, expressive, and full of personality. She also had an immense love for animals, especially her cats Pesto and Alfredo, along with her dearly missed cats Bootsie and Pretty Kitty, who held a special place in her heart.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a service beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Palmer Funeral Homes – Hickey Chapel, South Bend, Indiana.
Christine will be remembered for her voice, her individuality, her love for her family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those who knew her. Her memory will live on in song, in style, and in the hearts of all who loved her.

How does it feel, baby – roaming the cosmos without fear, impervious to the limitations of time and space? Your mind’s tether is now broken, and the fragility of life is no more. May your spirit fly free, but also comfort us, those of us left behind awash in your love, missing you terribly.
Please don’t dress in black
When you’re at [his] wake
Don’t go there to mourn
But to celebrate.
