Christopher Eric Jacks, aged 54, passed away at 6:30 am on Monday, January 26, 2026. Born on May 29, 1971, in South Bend, Christopher was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose vibrant spirit and generous heart left an unforgettable mark on all who knew him.
Christopher was the cherished son of Kevin and Linda Sue (Holtz) Jacks. His immediate family includes his brothers, Stephen (Brenda) Jacks and John (Samantha) Jacks; his sister, Kelly Jacks; his adored nephews, Dakota, Kalab, Brady, Shane, and Sam; and his treasured nieces, Kelcy and Chloe. He also leaves behind his caring aunts, Debra (Bob) Barajas and Lorraine Fath, as well as several cousins who will miss his presence dearly.
Christopher was a skilled engineer at Morgan Olsen in Sturgis, MI and his passion for mechanics extended far beyond the workplace. He was known for his love of motorcycles, especially Harleys, and participated in many benefit rides for charity. His generosity of spirit was matched by his zest for life, which included hanging out with friends, attending concerts, and savoring “Hot” foods. An enthusiast of the culinary arts, Christopher relished going out to eat and experimenting with bold flavors with his smoker.
Christopher's hands were rarely still, as he found joy in working on cars and restoring old vehicles. His pride and joy was his '66 Mustang, which he restored with meticulous care. A true fan of Notre Dame football, he could often be found tailgating at games, sharing his passion with those he loved. He attended many concerts and one time when he took his niece and nephew, Chloe and Brady, they asked him to throw them into the mosh pit.
In addition to his mechanical interests, Christopher enjoyed skiing, and maintained a beautiful garden, a testament to his patience and connection to nature. His travels took him to many places, but he always remained close to home at heart, especially valuing the time spent with his parents. His dad was not only a parent, but also his best friend.
Christopher's life will be celebrated with a visitation from 4-7 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026, in Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN 46615. The funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in the same location, where family and friends may begin to gather at 9 am. The burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, where Christopher will be laid to rest.
His legacy of love, laughter, and the pursuit of passions will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
