Christy Ann (Norris) Dozier

Christy Ann Dozier, a loving and gentle soul, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Livonia, MI. Born on March 30, 1958, in South Bend, IN, Christy was a beacon of kindness and thoughtfulness, touching the lives of all who knew her.

The daughter of Charles H. Norris and Nancy (Roher) Winland, Christy was raised in a loving home, later joined by her stepfather, Bill Winland. She was the cherished sister of Cheryl Lynn Norris, who preceded her in death. Christy's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she carried this value into her own marriage and parenting. She was the devoted wife of Pernell Dozier and the proud mother of twin daughters, Kari and Kelli Konopka, and sons, Ryan (Victoria) Cauffman and Chad Cauffman. Her joy was multiplied with the birth of her grandson, Dominick Cauffman, who brought immense happiness into her life. Also surviving Christy are nephews, Adam (Danielle) Norris and Jordan (Abbey) Norris; and great nephews, Jordan Wozniak, Jaylin Norris and Jaxon Norris.

Christy's dedication to caring for others was evident in her professional life as well. She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing, a testament to her commitment to service. As a registered nurse, she provided compassionate care to countless patients, often going above and beyond her duties to ensure their comfort and well-being. Her colleagues admired her for her dedication and her patients remembered her for her gentle demeanor and thoughtful approach.

As we remember Christy, we are reminded of a quote by Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Christy made everyone she encountered feel loved and valued, and for that, she will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Funeral services for Christy will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 28, 2023, in the Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Pastor Ronald Drake will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Galien Cemetery, Galien, MI. Friends may visit with the family from noon until 2:00 pm on Thursday in the funeral home prior to services.
