Clare Dwayne Davis, passed away on May 7, 2026, in St. Joseph, Michigan, at the age of 63.
Born on September 22, 1962, in Niles, Michigan. He was the son of the late Clare W. Davis and Phyllis M. (Conner) Davis. He grew up with a strong sense of family and carried that connection with him throughout his life. Clare earned his GED, a milestone that reflected his determination.
Clare worked in the landscaping industry doing lawn care, where he took pride in helping keep properties looking their best. He approached life with a quiet manner, but he was rarely alone, as he was always in the company of friends who appreciated his easygoing nature and loyal companionship.
Outside of work, Clare found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, pastimes that allowed him to spend time outdoors and appreciate the world around him. He had a special reputation as the “garlic man,” a nickname that captured both his personality and the memorable way he was known among those around him. Whether tending a garden, sharing time with friends, or enjoying the peace of the outdoors, Clare found contentment in familiar routines and meaningful moments.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis M. (Conner) Davis; his brother, John Davis; his niece, Mackenzie (Trey) Holland; and his nephew, Nicholas Davis. He was preceded in death by his father, Clare W.
