Connie Slusser Obituary

Connie Lynn Slusser, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, in Memorial Hospital. Born on April 10, 1960, in Pendleton, Oregon, to the late Jack and Carole (York) Orth, Connie's warmth and vivacity left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

On July 21, 1979, Connie united in marriage with her beloved husband, John Slusser, a union that flourished over the years, blessed with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Together, they raised a family that included their sons, Raymond Slusser and Anthony (Chelsea) Slusser, who brought Connie immense joy and pride. Although she was preceded in death by her son Scott Slusser and her brother John Orth, Connie's legacy continues through her five adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever treasure the moments spent in her loving embrace.

Connie's passion for the great outdoors was evident in her enthusiasm for camping, fishing, and gathering around bonfires. Her spirit was most vibrant when surrounded by friends and family at cookouts, where her laughter was as infectious as the warmth of the flames. Her love for travel took her to Colorado, where she enjoyed visiting her son and embracing the beauty of the mountains.

A devoted fan of Notre Dame Football, Connie's spirit and energy were unmatched on game days. Her loyalty to the team was more than just a pastime; it was a reflection of her commitment to the things she loved and the people she shared them with.

The family will honor Connie's life with a Memorial Visitation 12-1pm on Friday, March 27, 2026 in Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel at 2701 Lincolnway West in South Bend, IN. Those wishing to leave condolences for the family may do so at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.

Connie's departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will forever illuminate the lives of those she touched. Her laughter, love, and the lessons she imparted will be cherished and remembered always. As we bid farewell to Connie Lyne Slusser, we do so with gratitude for the time we were given with her and the assurance that her legacy will continue to inspire us all.
