Dalano “Cat” Eugene Watford, 45, passed away at a private residence on Friday, June 8, 2018. Dalano was born on January 4, 1973 in South Bend, IN to parents Cosmo Nathan Watford, Sr. and Candace Gail Mitchell, both of South Bend.
Dalano, or “Cat” as he was known to many, was employed as a painter for Patrick Metal and a proud father of three. Cat was a grandfather to three and a beloved son, nephew, brother and friend. Cat cherished the time he spent with his friends and loved ones and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Cat is survived by his parents, Cosmo Watford, Sr. of South Bend and Candace Mitchell of South Bend; son Dalano Eugene Watford, Jr. of Erie, Pennsylvania; daughter Aaliyah Watford of Rochester, New York; son Damarius Eugene Watford of Niles, Michigan; three grandchildren; siblings: Dalana (Curtis) Coley, Latasha Shelton, Mark Williams, Demetrius Mitchell, Pamela Barrett, Morrell (Tajuanna) Jones, Tamesha Gullatt, Tamara Watford, Darnell Wilson, John Watford, Cosmo Watford, Jr., Cornelius Watford; special cousins Crystal White and Mary Johnson; special aunt and uncle Beverly and Carver Murphy and Eddie and Donna Newsome; aunts and uncles: Warnita Smith; Toya McKinney; Carol Berry; Bobby McKinney; Dale Watford; Darell Ray Smith; Howard Watford as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends Derrick Austin, Derick Burrnett, Gee Malvoe and Patricia Pas; fiancée Christina Ashworth; three step-children: Phillip, Charlie and Tori Ashworth.
Cat was preceded in death by Cosmo Watford II; Cosmo Watford III; grandparents Jean and Napoleon Mitchell; Tyron Watford; Carol Valentine; Sarah Watford; Kilroy Smith; Precious Watford.
Services for Cat will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend. Friends may call on the family for visitation for one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Cat’s honor may be made to the family care of Palmer Funeral Homes.
