Daniel Dwayne Sealey, who was born on November 21, 1985, in Joliet, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in South Bend, IN.
Daniel spent much of his life working in construction, where he developed a reputation for being willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Those who knew Daniel will remember him for the simple but meaningful ways he showed up for others.
Daniel is survived by his father, Jay Knapik of Bolingbrook, IL; his mother, Mary (Sealey) Blickem of Sullivan, IL; his daughter, Hanna L. Sealey of Paris, IL; his sister, Erlinda Polendo of Mattoon, IL; and his two brothers, Michael Garrison of Pennsylvania and Thomas Messina of Illinois. Each of them carries forward memories of his life and the many moments that made him special to those around him.
Daniel met the demands of life with a practical spirit and a willingness to keep moving forward. His legacy lives on in the people who knew and loved him, and in the memories they will continue to cherish.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his time on earth was far too short, Daniel leaves behind a lasting impression. May he be remembered with love and gratitude for the life he lived and the hearts he touched.
Cremation will take place, and no services will be held at this time. Palmer Funeral Home—River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
