Daniel D. Snyder

Daniel D. Snyder passed away in his room at Jesse’s Sweet Home in South Bend at 7:50 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2023.

Dan was born on September 28, 1979, in Mishawaka, Indiana.

Dan is survived by his mother Diana (Gillam) Snyder and father Larry Snyder of South Bend, brother Christopher Snyder of Temecula, CA., Aunt Helen Snyder of Mishawaka and Aunt Diana Snyder of Mishawaka. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Otis and Velma Snyder, Arther and Eurtha Gillam, his Uncles Richard Snyder, Jack Gillam  and Michael Gillam and his Aunt Judy Rasmussen as well as his Godmother Patricia Wagner and Godfather Robert Brown.

Dan was active in the Boy Scouts of America and the Special Olympics where he competed in swimming events. He was a graduate of John Adams High School and a graduate of Brown School and he worked at Barnaby’s Pizza in Mishawaka until his disabilities progressed. He was a member of the Potawatomi Zoo Society and volunteered at the zoo. Dan enjoyed camping and was a member of numerous camping groups. He also liked hobby radio and scanners where he would spend hours listening to events happening around town especially at Notre Dame during football games. If you ever needed to know anything about the weather, you could always ask Dan. He was fascinated with steam engines, cars, trucks, motorcycles and anything that would go fast. Dan was a storyteller and enjoyed talking with his friends and neighbors in his River Park community.

Funeral services for Dan will be on Saturday, September 23 at 12:00 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home ~ Bubb Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Pastor Mike Jamison, from Oak Creek Community Church in Mishawaka will officiate the services.
