Danny L. Myers

Danny L. Myers was born on March 7, 1943 in Lenoir City, TN, to Frank E. and Ruth J. (Hammondtree) Myers. He passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at his residence in Mishawaka, IN.

In May 1962, Danny entered the United States Army as a military police officer. On January 23, 1965, he married the former Barbara J. Keel. From this union came Tammy Jo (Solomon) Merrill of South Bend, IN, and Traci Lynn Myers of Mishawaka, IN. Danny is also survived by his grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Drew (Cassie) Fall, Lindsay (Brad) Myers, Dana Fick, Kyle (Alexis) Edwards. Danny also lit up when he saw his great-grandchildren, Katara and Ocean, and bonus great-grandchildren, Zion and Amir. Surviving Danny also are his siblings, Charles Myers and Delois "Ann" McKesson, along with many nieces and nephews.

Danny loved fishing and also told stories about any situation; if it happened to you, it happened to him. His stories or real-life experiences changed every time he told them, so no one knew what really happened. He attended the Apostolic Temple Church, and for many years, he was a greeter to everyone who walked into the church. Danny also had a special bond with Lila Bea Rowe, who would greet the visitors with him. He kept a very special place in his heart for her. Danny was especially known for his “broccoli salad”!

A celebration of life is scheduled for 11:00am on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Apostolic Temple Church, 2221 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN. Pastor Chris Rowe will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am at the church prior to the service. Dinner will follow the service, downstairs in the social hall.
