Dau Thi Nguyen

Dau Thi Nguyen, 79, of Granger, Indiana, passed away at 1:50pm on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family.

Born on July 30, 1946, in Ninh Bình, Vietnam, to Tuyen and Mui Nguyen. On Aug 28, 1966 she married Hot V. Nguyen. They had 4 children. Lisa(Tan) Tran in Columbus, IN; Ann (Gary) Anglin in Bourbon, IN; Tuan (Lalita) Nguyen in South Bend IN and Truong Nguyen in South Bend,IN. They moved to US in 1979 where she devoted her life to her family, her faith, and caring for others. She was employed at Saint Marys College for 35 years, where she was known for her dedication, hard work, and gentle spirit. Her quiet acts of kindness and unwavering work ethic earned the respect and friendship of many coworkers throughout the years.

Dau was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and she was very excited to soon be a GREAT-grandmother. She has five beloved grandchildren, Thomas and Sarah Tran, Jacob Elliot, Maggie Nguyen, and Nick Nguyen; her sister Nguyen Thi Lan, in Vietnam Nguyen Van Cau, in St. Louis Nguyen Thi Phương, in Houston, Tuyen Nguyen of South Bend, Indiana; sister-in-law, Hoat Nguyen; brother-in-law, Dang Nguyen; along with many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hot V. Nguyen; parents Tuyen and Mui Nguyen; brothers Nguyen Van Anh and Nguyen Van Bac.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday, July 23, 2026, in Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN, where family and friends may begin to gather at 9:30am for an additional time of visitataion. Graveside services and burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame, IN.
