David Timothy Johnson

David Timothy Johnson, 73, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 12:46pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in his home.

Born on November 14, 1952, in South Bend, David was the son of Dale and Opal (Hutson) Johnson. David spent many years working as a transporter of Class A motorhomes.

David is survived by his sisters, Beverly (Paul) Garcia of Corona, California, Bonnie Larsen of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson of Mishawaka, Indiana; and many family members in Southern California.    

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Opal Johnson; sister Barbara Kimberling; and brother, James Johnson.

David loved to read and collected books. He also had dreams of becoming a writer. Most of all, he liked to converse with people he would meet on his travel's cross country, hearing so many interesting stories. 

In keeping with David’s wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Palmer Southlawn Cremation Services. No public services are planned at this time.  Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615 is assisting the family with arrangements. David will be laid to rest at Southlawn Cemetery.
