David D. Niswonger

David D. Niswonger, 58 years old, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Reid Health Hospital in Richmond, IN. He was born August 4, 1962 in Mishawaka to the late Leonard Bryant and Delores (Hubanks) Niswonger. 

Dave lived most of his life as a resident of Michiana before moving to Losantville, IN. He worked as a general manager at JD Byrider. On January 16, 1982 in South Bend, Dave married the mother of his children Carla Bagarus. Dave loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and anytime he could take his boat out onto Lake Michigan. Some of his fondest memories were when he would take the children driving through Potato Creek State Park to watch deer. He also loved taking care of his animals and his farm. Dave was an avid fan of Notre Dame football. David's absolute pride and joy were his children and grandchildren.

Dave is survived by his girlfriend, Tina Bolser of Losantville; children, Melissa Hensley of West Lafayette, Richard (Hannah) Niswonger of Lynn, IN and Kristina (Casey) Jellison of South Bend; grandchildren, Leland, Layah, Layden, Baela and Oliver; mother of his children, Carla Bagarus; sister, Sue (Joseph) Horvath of South Bend; and brothers, Joseph Niswonger of Rocky Mountain, NC, Jerry Niswonger of Muncie, Robert Niswonger of Mishawaka, and James Niswonger of Mishawaka. Dave is also survived by his beloved dogs, Kobi and Shooter. Along with his parents, David is preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Duffy and Linda Niswonger; and brother, Zag Niswonger.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Homes-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N Main St, Mishawaka 46545. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow immediately at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
