David H. Richardson, 83, of Mishawaka, IN passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023. He was born on September 10, 1939 in Florence, Alabama to the late Charlie Lee and Roxie Bell (Vaughn) Richardson. On June 10, 1961, he was united in marriage to Ila Faye Thomas who preceded him in death in 2006. Together they had three sons; Michael of South Bend, IN, Dale (Carla) of Mishawaka, IN and Kurt of Mishawaka, IN who all survive. David was a hard worker and retired from Dodge Manufacturing in 1999 as a foundry worker. His love for his family and church was his life. He was a member of New Life Church in Osceola. David was always there to help. He was a HUGE Alabama Crimson Tide football fan his entire life and never missed a televised game. He enjoyed watching sports, spending time with his granddaughters, going to church and holiday functions at his house. In the summer, he could be found doing some type of yard work or just relaxing under the shade tree in his backyard. He lived and brought up his family in the same house for 60 years. His yard was the gathering place for most of the neighborhood in the summers hosting football games with the kids to just neighbors sitting in lawn chairs and talking about the day.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Kathleen Pulley, Myrtle Wright, Margaret Evelyn Wilbanks and his brothers, Charlie Owen Richardson, Warren Delano Richardson, James Franklin Richardson, Robert Paul Richardson, and Norman Howard Richardson; sister-in-law Arlene Richardson and brother-in-law Rudolph Peters.
