Delores (Gour) Wingett-Leets

Delores (Gour) Wingett-Leets, 95, a resident of South Bend passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday November 9, 2023.

Delores was born on March 9, 1928 in Edwardsburg, MI to the late Ollivern and Alma (Walker) Gour. 

Delores Gour married her first love, Lawson F. Wingett, in 1947 and had her only child, Sharon, in 1949. Lawson preceded her in death on June 19, 1978. Delores met and married her second love, Howard Leets on August 21, 1980, sharing 35 years of marriage before his passing in 2015.

Delores is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Egon) Ratkay of South Bend, 5 grandchildren: Nicholas Ratkay (preceded her in death), Joseph Ratkay, David (April) Ratkay, Jennifer (Stephen) Engstrom and Allison Ratkay. Delores has 16 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren to add to her legacy.

Delores loved the Lord and according to Roman's 10:9-10 "If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." She is now with her Savior, Jesus Christ!

In keeping with her wishes, no formal services will be held.  She will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
