Delsie M. Ewing (Blanchard), age 76, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, in Temple, Texas, where she was lovingly cared for by her daughter.
Delsie was born on June 16, 1949, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Ben Jones and Betty (Blanchard) Ewing. She spent most of her life in South Bend, where she built a home, raised her family, and formed lifelong friendships, before relocating to Texas in 2015.
She met the love of her life, Floyd Ewing, and they were married on May 22, 1993. Their marriage was one of devotion and companionship until Floyd’s passing on November 3, 2014.
Delsie is survived by her two daughters, Christi (Brian) Cheek of Temple, Texas, and Bettie (Christopher) Cheek of Prattville, Alabama; one stepson, Dennis Ewing of Goshen, Indiana; six grandchildren, Jordan, Autumn, Dylan, Ethan, Hunter, and Paige Cheek; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Dorothy Rupert, Helen (Bill) Barlow, Deb (Bob) Holcomb, Sandy (Tom) Byram, Jim Barnes, Ted Jones, Kenneth Jones, and Jenny (Red) Wilson).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Ewing; her parents, Ben Jones and Betty (Blanchard) Ewing; and her siblings Roger Evans, Tommy Jelderks, Betty Golomski, Dale Jones, Casey Jones, Benny Jones, and Becky Haney.
Delsie cherished her family above all else and found her greatest joy in spending time with them. She was an active member of the Beacon Bowl leagues and enjoyed the friendships and camaraderie bowling brought into her life. She was also proud of her 12 years of dedicated service working in the photo lab and electronics department at Walmart.
A viewing will be held on Monday December 22nd, 2025, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM with a service to follow at Palmer Funeral Homes – Guisinger Chapel. A private burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana.
Delsie will be remembered for her love, kindness, and devotion to her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
