Dennis D. Huegel

Dennis Drew Huegel passed away peacefully at his home in South Bend, Indiana, on June 9, 2026, at the age of 61.

Born on July 27, 1964, in South Bend, Dennis was the son of William and Patricia (Rook) Huegel. He spent much of his career working in retail and food industry at Martin’s Supermarket, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly personality.

Dennis was a devoted family man who cherished the time he spent with those he loved. He is survived by his brothers, Mark (Carla) Huegel, Matt (Terri) Huegel, Bruce (Mary) Huegel and Brian (Briann Booth) Huegel; nieces and nephews, Kara, Kelcie, Joshua, Michael, Jerimee, Jessica and Nicole; and many great nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, William and Patricia Huegel, brother, Doug Huegel, and niece, Lindsay.

A private burial will take place at Southlawn Cemetery, where Dennis will be laid to rest alongside his mother, Patricia. Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46614, is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dennis’ honor may be given to Oaklawn Mental Health Service, 415 E. Madison St., South Bend, IN 46617.
