Dennis Swisher Obituary

Dennis Eugene Swisher, a cherished family man, respected Army veteran, and dedicated truck driver, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in St. Joseph, Michigan. Born on August 11, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, Dennis's journey through life was marked by his unwavering kindness and the joy he brought to those around him.

Dennis's career as a truck driver spanned over three decades, during which he became known for his reliability and the respect he showed to everyone on the road. His service in the United States Army was a testament to his love for his country and the values he held dear. His involvement with the Buchanan Masons and the American Legion Honor Guard further exemplified his commitment to community and country.

Dennis was a loving figure to his granddaughter, Ashley Swisher, and a doting great-grandfather to Ryker. The legacy of his kind-hearted nature lives on through them. Though predeceased by his beloved children, Melissa and Jason Swisher, the memories they shared continue to bring comfort to all who knew them. Dennis's siblings, Cheryl, and the late Kathy, Nancy, Dick, and James, will remember him as a brother who was always there with a helping hand and a warm smile.

Dennis's passions extended beyond his professional life and family. He was an avid fan of Michigan football and NASCAR, finding joy and excitement in every game and race. He enjoyed spending time in South Haven with his girlfriend, Angie Collmer. Their shared moments at the lake were filled with laughter, love, and the simple pleasures of life.

As we bid farewell to a man of great character, we celebrate the enduring impact of his life. Dennis's memory will be treasured, and his spirit will forever be a guiding light for his family and friends.
