Diana Barnett Obituary

Diana Lynn Barnett (Barrier), the embodiment of intelligence, love, and adventure, concluded her remarkable journey on earth on December 9, 2023, passing peacefully in Cape Coral, Florida. She was born to the late Billy E. Barrier, Sr. and Jessie I. Barrier on March 13, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana. Also preceding her in death are her brothers., Jeffrey, Stephen, and Billy E. Barrier, Jr., welcoming her in eternal peace.

A 1970 LaSalle High School graduate, Diana pursued a career as a registered nurse after obtaining her degree from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in South Bend. She had a passion for taking care of others. Her career was a testament to her deeply compassionate spirit, providing comfort and support to those in her care.

Diana's life was one of loving partnership and cherished kinship. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Henry L. Barnett; her daughters, Jacquelyn Clark of Lebanon, Oregon, Stephenie Dietrich of Mishawaka, Indiana, and stepdaughter, Holly (Ben) Lauer of Novelty, Ohio; her son, Justin Clark of South Bend, and stepson, Brandon (BettyJo) Barnett of Mishawaka. Her legacy will continue to thrive through her grandchildren, Mikeala (Rylee) Wilson of South Bend, Aaron and Conner Miller of Mishawaka, Tiyanah (Blake) Palicki of South Bend, Justin Clark, Jr. of Indianapolis, and Ava Hakes of Lebanon, Oregon, alongside her step-grandson, Sterling William Lauer of Novelty, Ohio, and great-grandson, Winston Palicki of South Bend.

Diana was involved in the motorcycle community in Indiana, participating in many remembrance rides with the Indiana Patriot Guard, ABATE Indiana, Goldwing Riders, and the Remembrance Riders. She was also an active supporter of veteran families. In 2012, Diana and Henry moved to Arizona where she was actively involved in the Sundance Active Adult Community, serving as the head of social committees and the HOA board. Diana enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends, along with sharing the love of her fur babies, Puglee and Lucy.

Diana lived richly, loved generously, and will be remembered as a beacon of light and love by all who had the privilege to know her. Her journey continues in the hearts of those she left behind, as they carry forth the indomitable spirit of a truly extraordinary soul.
