Diana Ruth Turley, age 83, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away on May 6, 2026. She was born on January 1, 1943, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Louis Andert and Lois (Day) Andert.
Diana attended Mishawaka High School and carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. In her younger days, she enjoyed spending time at the Moose Lodge in Mishawaka, where she made memories and friendships that stayed with her for years. She was known for her outgoing personality and her ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone she met. Diana had a lively presence and a strong will, and those who knew her best would lovingly describe her as a very ornery spitfire.
Family was at the center of Diana’s life, and she treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Theresa (Patrick) Smith and Debra (Richard) Petersen, and her son, James (Sue) Turley. Diana was a proud grandmother to 21 loving grandchildren, a cherished great-grandmother to 40 loving great-grandchildren, and a delighted great-great-grandmother to 4 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Ronda (Lyle) Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Randel Turley; and brothers, Ronald Andert and Charlie “Buddy” Drake.
Diana found joy in the simple pleasures of life and loved staying active in the ways that brought her happiness. She enjoyed crocheting blankets for all the expecting grandchildren, creating keepsakes that will be treasured for generations. She also liked going to the casino and gambling, and she especially enjoyed playing euchre and other card games. Diana loved to socialize and go out, and she never missed an opportunity to be around people and share in good conversation and laughter.
