Dolores A. Kolo

Dolores A. Kolo, 89, was reunited in heaven with the love of her life, Joseph B. Kolo, on Friday, September 24, 2021. She was born on August 29, 1932 in South Bend, IN, to Leo and Martha (Niespodizany) Ryback, both of whom preceded her in death.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Lynn M. (David) Lange of Granger, IN; sons, Joseph B. (Becky) Kolo of Colleyville, TX; John R. (Jane) Kolo of Granger, IN; Michael A. (Laura) Kolo of Edwardsburg, MI; eight grandchildren, Gracie Lange, Ellie Lange, Joey Lange, Taylor (Evan) Witsken, Mackenzie Kolo, Sara (Evan) VanBelle, Jessica (Cody) Thornton, and Joseph Kolo; and great-grandchild, Paisley Joe Thornton.

Dolores was married to Joseph B. Kolo on September 17, 1955 in South Bend, and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2015. In addition to her parents and her husband of 60 years, Dolores was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Brambert, as well as her three brothers, James Ryback, Leo Ryback, and Ronald Ryback.

Dolores was employed in management at Nimet Industries, where she retired in 1997 after sixteen years of service. She was a member of St. Thérèse, Little Flower Catholic Church in South Bend. Dolores was the matriarch of our family, and she instilled in us a strong work ethic and taught us to put family and faith above all else. Her spirit, with the many lives she has touched, is certain to be everlasting.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation for their care of Dolores, to the staff at Tanglewood Trace; care assistants, Pam Shankle and Kim McCreary; her doctor, Dr. Shaya Mokfi; and the staff at Heart to Heart Hospice.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at St. Thérèse, Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am-12:00pm on Thursday at the church prior to Mass. Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
