Dolores grew up on a small farm in Battleground, IN. She loved being in the country and taking care of animals, especially her favorite pig named Clem. Dolores took care of the lion's share of the work on the farm and helped take care of the homeless children that their family took in during the war.

Dolores loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Twin City Baptist Church for over 50 years. Her passion was singing. She sang in the choir and sang solos for the church services. She tinkered on the piano every once in awhile for her own enjoyment. She worked at Ball Band for a few years, but was mainly a housewife and mother.
