Dolores Ann (Critchlow) Michael, born August 11, 1936, in Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully. She was the daughter of the late Rex Critchlow and Margaret (Scherr) Stewart.
Dolores is lovingly remembered by her four children: Susan Sheehan of Terre Haute, Indiana; Kim Jones of Mishawaka, Indiana; Dan (Susan) Michael of Canton, Georgia; and Moody Michael of South Bend, Indiana. She is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She is further survived by her three brothers: Richard (Helen) Critchlow of Niles, Michigan; Jim (Kathy) Critchlow; of Florence AZ and Robert (Ruth) Critchlow of Rockport TX In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her brother, Rex Critchlow.
Dolores had a deep love for art, especially drawing and sketching, and she shared that talent with her family by creating cherished Christmas and birthday cards for her loved ones. She enjoyed playing Scrabble with her grandchildren, especially her grandson Tom, creating many special memories filled with laughter and friendly competition. Dolores also had a fondness for collecting elephants, particularly marble paper weights, which reflected her unique sense of style and appreciation for beauty. She treasured the time she spent playing Bingo with her daughter Kim, moments that brought her great joy. She shared a special bond with her grandson Travis, who shared a birthday with her.
She loved working at Notre Dame and meeting all of the students. She was considered a Legend at the South Dining Hall. She attended Riley High School, graduating from Central High School.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, Dolores will be cremated, and no public services are planned at this time.
