Donald Eugene Marietta, 72, residing in Granger, passed away at 7:30 pm Sunday, October 4, 2015 in his home. He was born October 17, 1942 in Clinton, IN to the late Joseph and Julie (Senko) Marietta.
Donald earned his bachelor degree in engineering from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology. He was employed with Federal Mogul Corporation in South Bend until his retirement as Plant Engineer in 2008.
On December 28, 1963 in Terre Haute, IN, Donald married the former Sandra Harness, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, he is survived by three sons, Richard Marietta of South Bend and Tony (Gloria) Marietta and Chris Marietta, both of Granger; six grandchildren, Lance, Zoe, Cara, Dominic, Tamarra and Ian; and three great grandchildren, Jaylin, Landyn and Alexis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Joe Marietta.
Funeral services for Donald will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 8, 2015 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Rev. Bill Meininger of St. Pius X Catholic Church will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
