Donn Rudd, of Noblesville, IN, formerly of North Liberty, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. at the age of 74. He was born on May 14, 1947 in Knox, IN to the late Alonzo & Catherine (Rice) Rudd.
Donn worked as an auto broker and from 1982 -1988 he was part owner of Rudd Oldsmobile Cadillac in LaPorte and continued working in the automobile industry untill his passing. He was a proud U.S. Army and Vietnam Veteran, a member of the Pendleton American Legion, Post #117 and an avid golfer. Donn felt there were no strangers, only friends he hadn’t met. He will be forever remembered for his loving heart and sense of humor.
On November 28, 1970 in Fort Lauderdale, FL he was united in marriage to Cheryl “Sherri” Houser who survives. From this union they were blessed with two children, daughter, Dawn Rudd of Noblesville and son, Jody (Wendy) Rudd of Pendleton, along with three grandchildren, Linda (Dwight) Pope, D. J. Rudd, Jarret Rudd and four great grandchildren with one on the way. He also leaves behind his sisters, Sue Solmos of Indianapolis, IN, and Peggy Moylan of LaPorte, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan St. Lakeville. Graveside services and burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty, IN. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
On Saturday, September 25, 2021 the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Pendleton American Legion Post #117, 611 W. State St. Pendleton, IN 46064.
