Donna M. (Emery) Borsodi

Donna M. Borsodi, 90 years old, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 in South Bend. She was born November 5, 1930 in Mishawaka to the late Alvin C. and Vernice J. (Snyder) Emery. 

Donna was a lifelong resident of Mishawaka and graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1948. Donna then proudly served her country in the United States Navy. On November 1, 1969 at First English Lutheran Church, she married the love of her life, Robert Borsodi. She worked as a secretary at Uniroyal before retiring in 1986. Donna was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, where she loved to volunteer and serve, notably involved in WELCH, a women’s group, and as a chairman of the Altar Guild. Donna was also a member of the Mishawaka Alumni Association and the Uniroyal Ladies Club. She also liked to travel and loved to dote on her grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her son, Scott (Kristene) Borsodi of South Bend; five grandchildren, Mary C. (Todd) Franks of Mishawaka, Rachel L. (Ian) Hamilton of Mishawaka, Jonathan S. (Izabela) Borsodi of Oakland, CA, Adam R. Borsodi of Washington, PA, and Matthew R. Borsodi of Phoenix, Arizona; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Rosemary C. (Michael) Carton; brother, David A. (Sharon) Emery; and brother-in-law, Gene Lewis. Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert; her parents, Alvin and Vernice; and sister, Patricia Lewis.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30 at 11:00am at First English Lutheran Church, 16495 Ireland Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46544. The services will be livestreamed through the Palmer Funeral Homes website for those unable to attend, however, the church has mentioned that the internet is not very good. If the signal is too weak to stream, the service will be seen in its entirety approximately four hours after the funeral. The link will be on this updated obituary page on Saturday.  Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 29 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Palmer Funeral Homes-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St, Mishawaka, IN 46545 and thirty minutes prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow immediately at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
