Donna Fisher Obituary

Donna Kay Fisher, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on June 8, 2026. Donna was born on December 16, 1946, in Lester, Alabama to Wallace and Irene Hammond. Donna married Allen Fisher on September 16, 1966. Together, they enjoyed traveling the country with frequent trips to Vegas. They also enjoyed spending long days at the men's softball fields and were well-known faces at all Buchanan sporting events. Donna enjoyed a long career at Simplicity Patterns as a computer operator, often speaking fondly of her memories.

After Al's death, Donna spent most of her time with her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed cooking Sunday lunch/dinner for the family, making enough food for a small army. She took pride in making everyone their own favorite food. Donna also liked spending time at the casino, making sports bets, and playing her favorite slot machines. However, Donna's greatest pride was her grandchildren. Donna loved watching them participate in any and all sports. She never missed an opportunity to show up and support her grandchildren in everything they did. Donna will be greatly missed by all who love her.

Donna is survived by sons, Michael (Jessica) and Lanny, daughter, Lindy Fisher, and grandchildren, Austin Williams, Alea Fisher, Maxton Welsh, and Bryce Fisher. Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Fisher; their infant son, William Fisher; her "adopted" son, Michael Greene; her parents, Wallace and Irene Hammond; and her brothers, Wally, Tommy, and Freddy.
