Donna F. Smith (McCartney)

Donna F. Smith (McCartney), 86 years old, passed away at 5:18 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, IN.  Donna was born on March 24, 1936 in Brazil, IN to the late Daniel and Sarah Ann (Smith) Gamble.  She has resided in the South Bend area since 1958, moving from Jasonville, IN.   Donna retired after 24 years of employment as a supervisor in accounting from the State of Indiana.   On June 15, 1957 in South Bend, Donna and Eugene Gordon “Smitty” Smith were united in marriage.  Eugene preceded her in death on January 15, 1994.  On March 15, 2008 in LaPaz, Donna and Ronnie McCartney were united in marriage. 

Along with Ronnie, her husband of 14 years, she is survived by her daughter, Donna Jean Priser of Lakeville; two grandsons, Colton (Jennifer) Priser of Markleville, IN and Trenton (Michelle) Priser of Shirley, IN; three grandchildren, Bayler, Barrett, and Lincoln; and her sister-in-law, Sue Gamble of New Carlisle.  Donna is also survived by Ronnie’s children, Neil (Jolie) McCartney of Otterbein, IN, Brien McCartney of LaPaz, and Beth (Scott) Styers of Plymouth; and grandchildren, Mindi (Adam) Martin, Tanner McCartney, Trey (Hannah) McCartney, Makenna McCartney, and Brandon (Ashley) Styers.  Donna was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Lowell Priser; Ronnie’s grandson, Justin Styers; sister, Norma Easton; and six brothers, Kenneth, Russell, Dan Jr., John Joe, Gene, and Jerry Gamble.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN.  Pastor Sam McClimans will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.  Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
