Dorothea E. Felix

Dorothea E. (Kinner) Felix, 78, a lifelong resident of South Bend passed away on Sunday May 3, 2026, at Healthwin in South Bend.

Dorothea was born on September 7, 1947, to the late Frank and Doris (Coons) Kinner.

On September 7, 1974, she married Jon Felix in Chicago and the two shared 37 years of marriage before his passing in 2003.

Dorothea worked at the board of trades in Chicago. She also worked as a CNA for St. Joseph Care Center were nursing and caring for others was her passion.

Dorothea also shared a passion with husband and that was traveling, especially out west.

Dorothea is survived by her children; James Felix, John Felix, and Helen Felix, as well as 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and her sister, Barbara Day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings; Cheryl Gove and David Kinner.

A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
