The two were joined in holy matrimony at First Baptist Church of Mishawaka on November 25th, 1967. After graduation, he began his career in the sheet metal trade, where he would eventually become the owner of Schuster Sheet Metal in 2004. He retired after 45 years of service.

He is survived by his sister, Joyce DeRaeve of South Bend, his loving wife of 56 years, Barb (Holland) Livingston of Mishawaka, daughter Lisa (Billy) Adams of Bristol, son Steven (Pamela) Livingston of South Bend, and daughter Gabriella Livingston of Mishawaka. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Florence, brother Jack Livingston, sister Norma Frank, as well as many other loved ones including friends, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Doug loved to spend his time outdoors; he loved to fish, hunt for morel mushrooms, as well as relax and unwind on the white sandy beaches of Florida and Northern Michigan.
