Dr. DeVon W. Frash Jr.

Dr. DeVon Walters Frash, Jr., 95, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 9:15pm on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in Brickyard Health Care Center in Fountainview in Mishawaka, Indiana.

Born on March 9, 1931, in South Bend, he was the son of the late DeVon Walters Frash, Sr. and Grace E. (Elliott) Frash. Dr. Frash dedicated his life to caring for others through his work as a respected family practice physician. His compassion, wisdom, and commitment to his patients left a lasting impact on countless families throughout the community.

On February 8, 1967, he married the love of his life, Arlene “Eader” Frash. Together they shared many years of devotion, friendship, and family memories.

Dr. Frash is survived by his wife, Arlene; daughter, Heidi (Matt) Kirkpatrick of South Bend; sons, DeVon E. Frash of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Lincoln W. (Tiffany) Frash of Fishers, Indiana; beloved grandchildren, Kristi (Scott) Warner, Nichole (Cory) Charles, Kyle (Tyra) Kirkpatrick, Gabriel Kirkpatrick, Hunter Kirkpatrick, Trevor Frash, and Alex Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Larkin, Lainey and Patrick Warner, and Matthew and Lila Kirkpatrick; sister, Kay Marygrace (Richard) Tyran of Edwardsburg, Michigan; and sister-in-law, Yvonne Frash. Dr. DeVon Frash was preceded in death by grandson, William Frash; and brother, Dr. Elliott C. Frash.

Dr. Frash honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Outside of medicine, Dr. Frash enjoyed golf, baseball, bowling, sailing, traveling, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.  He also loved to play Euchre with his Euchre group. He was a proud member of the Masons and the Elks. Those who knew him will remember his warm personality, dedication to family, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, in Palmer Funeral Homes - Guisinger Chapel 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, Indiana 46614. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery where there will be Military Honors.
