Edward Dorn Obituary

Edward Stanley Chester Dorn, 87 years old, passed away at 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the home of his daughter in Arlington, TX.  Mr. Dorn was born on September 13, 1934 in South Bend to the late Paul and Bernice (Krizela) Dorn. He lived in Lakeville, Indiana for 46 years before moving to Arlington, TX to live with his daughter.  On March 16, 1968 in South Bend, Edward and the former Marie Rodick were united in marriage.  Marie preceded him in death on August 16, 2014.  Two brothers, Raymond and Peter Dorn, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Dorn is survived by his four children, Shirley (John) Lace of Rochester, IN, Donna Dorn of McKenney, VA, Kristie Dorn of Arlington, TX and Christopher Dorn of South Bend; twelve grandchildren including three Mr. and Mrs. Dorn assisted in raising, Heather Dorn of Dothan, Alabama, Lindsey Dorn of South Bend and Ashley Dorn of Anderson, IN; and twenty-one great grandchildren.

Mr. Dorn retired from INDOT and proudly served his country with the United States Air Force. He was a very generous and giving man who never met a stranger.  Mr. Dorn enjoyed fishing, attending rodeos, and especially spending time with his family.  He was always happy and ready for a Gin Rickey.

A military graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022 at the Porter Rae Cemetery, North Liberty, IN.  A private visitation will be held prior.  Palmer Funeral Home in Lakeville is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Edward Stanley Dorn may be donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  Online condolences may be offered to the Dorn family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
