Edwin Lee Fetke

Edwin Lee “Ed” Fetke Jr., 61, passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2026, in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Born on March 19, 1965, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Ed was the son of Edwin Lee Fetke Sr. and Waltraud (Rusch) Fetke. Throughout his life, Ed was known for his compassionate heart, unwavering dedication to helping others, and deep love for his family and friends.

Ed shared a devoted and loving marriage with his wife of 27 years, Laura (Vieau) Fetke, who was truly the love of his life. Together they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and countless cherished memories.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura; his parents, Edwin Fetke Sr. and Waltraud Fetke; his daughters, Linda Jean Fetke and Selena Marie Fetke; his sons, Michael (Jessica) Fetke and Tony Fetke; his sister, Stacey (Bryan) Bosell; and five treasured grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also lovingly remembered by numerous extended family members, friends, coworkers, former students, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Family was at the center of everything Ed did. Some of his happiest moments were spent camping with loved ones in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, vacationing at Dollywood, boating, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people and was always willing to offer a listening ear, thoughtful advice, or words of encouragement.

Ed devoted more than three decades of his life to emergency medical services as a Paramedic/Fire Fighter. Caring for others was not simply a profession, it was his calling. He approached every patient with compassion, professionalism, and genuine concern. Beyond his work in the field, Ed was passionate about teaching and mentoring others. He taught countless CPR and EMT courses, helping to train and inspire future generations of emergency responders. Through his service, leadership, and dedication, he made a lasting impact on his community and the many lives he touched throughout his career.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place. A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home- Hoven Chapel is assisting the family.

Though his passing leaves a tremendous void, Ed’s legacy of service, kindness, compassion, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
