Elaine Boswell

Elaine (Roberts) Boswell, age 71, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on April 12, 2026, in the city where she was born on August 20, 1954.

Elaine was born in South Bend, Indiana, to Clabe and Pearlie (Wolfe) Roberts, who preceded her in death. She grew up surrounded by family and learned early the value of hard work, loyalty, and compassion. Those qualities remained with her throughout her life and were reflected in the way she cared for others and the way she carried herself each day. Elaine attended John Adams High School and graduated in 1973, a milestone she carried with pride.

Elaine devoted many years of her life to serving others through her work. She worked as a teacher’s aide at Perley School, where her patience and gentle spirit made a lasting difference in the lives of children and staff alike. She also worked at K-Mart as a deli cashier and later served as an occupational aide at Cardinal Nursing and Rehab. In addition, Elaine gave over 20 years’ service at Dollar Tree, where she touched countless hearts through her warm smile.

Elaine was known to many as a sister or a mother figure, and her home and heart were always open to close family and friends. She was the best friend one could find, and she was always willing to do anything she could to help someone in need. Elaine’s presence brought comfort and strength to others, and her memory will continue to be a source of love and inspiration.

Elaine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to shop and was an avid viewer of the Home Shopping Network. Music was another source of happiness for her, and she especially enjoyed listening and singing while cooking.

Elaine is survived by her son, Ryan Boswell and his wife, Telina, her grandson, Antoine Payne, her siblings, Kathy Roberts and her spouse Derrick Phillips, her special niece, Shantell Monroe, and her dedicated friends, Francine Howell and Cheryl Ash, Beverly Dixon, and Connie Mack Henry She was preceded in death by her parents, Clabe and Pearlie Roberts, and her nephew, Terral Roberts Wardlow Jr.

Elaine Boswell will be truly missed; she will never be forgotten.
