Eleanor V. (Pinckert) Stock

Eleanor V. Stock, 96, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Golden Living Center in Elkhart, Indiana.  Eleanor was born on November 8, 1923 to the late Clifton and Alta (Eskridge) Pinckert.  Eleanor was a lifetime resident of South Bend.

In January 1952 Eleanor married Anthony F. Stock who preceded her in death on January 29, 2002.

Eleanor worked as a laborer at Uniroyal Corporation before retiring.  She attended and was very active at the River Park Church of Christ and then Deer Run Church of Christ.  She loved to crochet and created dolls and afghans for her friends and family.

Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Alta L. (John) Swank formerly of Chicago, Illinois, Ruth Ann (Jim) Johnson of South Bend, Indiana and Rebecca M. (Mel) Probst of North Barrington, Illinois;  one son, David L. (Sue) Stock of Elizabethton, TN and another son that preceded her in Death, Fred (Ron) Stock.  She was the proud grandmother of fourteen grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren! She also had two brothers that preceded her in death, Orval (Dorothy) Pinckert of South Bend and Jack (Myra Jane) Pinckert of Jefferson, Iowa.

Funeral services for Eleanor will be held privately on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Palmer Funeral Home, River Park. Private burial at Olive Chapel Cemetery will follow. A recording of her service can be found HERE. A memorial for Eleanor will be held at a later date.
