Elinor Sharp

Elinor Sharp, of Mishawaka, passed away in her home March 27, 2023, in the presence of her family, at the age of 91.

She was born in Florence Alabama to Emmett and Pauline (O’Bryant) Marks.  She was preceded in death by her four older sisters, her infant granddaughter Lanor, and her infant grandson, Evan.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two sons; Randall (Janelle) Sharp and Mark (Amanda) Sharp; one daughter Jennea (Marshall) Steele; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

Moving from Alabama to Mishawaka in early the 1950’s Elinor worked as a Nurses Aid and Ward Clerk at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. She retired from CTS Corporation of Elkhart in 1989.

Mrs. Elinor Sharp was blessed to have wonderful neighbors, Joe and Di, special friends, Mary, Judy, Vicki, and her caregiver Kateasha.  Not wanting to leave anyone out, there were many others.

Anyone who knew Elinor knows she loved working on her home and in her yard.  She was always a very hard worker.

She was a member of the Laurel Street Church of Christ in Mishawaka.  She had been a homemaker for the past few years.  The congregation came to her home on March 19th and held a church service for her and sang several beautiful hymns.  She was very pleased.

Per Mrs. Sharp’s request, there will be no services.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Elinor Sharp’s name to the Center for Hospice or to the St Joseph County Humane Society.
