Ellen F. (Kennedy) Snyder

Ellen Snyder went to eternal rest on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the age of 84. She is survived by her seven children and 22 grandchildren: Deborah E. Snyder  Richardson (John) of Lawrence, KS; David A. Snyder (Robin) of Leesburg; Eric D. Snyder (Eva) of South Bend; Elise L. Leszczynski (Mark) of Lake Zurich, IL; Denise M. Williams of Flower Mound, TX; Patrick A. Snyder (Nicole) of Indianapolis; and James C. Snyder of Bristol.

Ellen was born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 25, 1934.  She married Daniel A. Snyder (d. 1997) on January 12, 1957.  A resident of Bristol since 1968, Ellen participated in numerous volunteer organizations, served as a director for the Elkhart County Cancer Society, and held a position at the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department before retiring permanently in 2000. An avid gardener, Ellen shared her appreciation for nature with everyone and truly loved her home on the St. Joseph River. She enjoyed playing bridge, baking, her pets, family outings and traveling.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 24, at 11:00 AM, at St. Patrick Church, 309 S. Taylor Street, South Bend, IN. Visitors are welcome. Palmer Funeral Home--River Park and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
