Friends, family and loved ones, it is an honor and privilege for us to pay tribute to Elliot Sochera, who was remarkable in so many ways. He lived his life to the fullest and touched so many people during his time with us. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and a friend. Looking back, he was a respectful, caring and dedicated family man.
Our beloved Elliot has departed from us at the age of 44.
He left behind a wife, Fiona; three children: Rannel the 2nd. Rooney and Reen; two brothers, Mathews and Smart Sochera; one sister, Catherine Sochera Ngumuya; nephews Remember and Isabel Naombwa of Ireland, Joseph Namagonya, Rannel, Spencer and Allan Ngumuya, Jr; one niece, Zinney Sochera; three nephews: Themba, Trevor and Blessings; two grand-nieces, Ariana and Tracy; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded In death by his parents, Steven and Felistus Sochera; siblings: brother Frank and sister Grace Sochera Nyimba.
Local funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Homes - Welsheimer North Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Road South Bend, IN 46635. Friends may call on the family for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Full obituary to come. Palmer Funeral Homes - West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. There will be also a funeral service in Malawi. Elliot will finally be laid to rest at his home village, Thunga, in Thyolo district, Malawi.
