Eric D. Pletcher, 50, of Richmond, VA, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021. He was born on September 5, 1971 in Cleveland, OH.
Eric is survived by his parents, John and Phyllis Pletcher of Granger, IN; sister, Mary (Bryan) Rice of Arlington, VA; niece, Mia Mani; nephew, Elijah Mani; grandmother, Rita Pletcher; aunt, Kay Cochrane; and cousins, William Cochrane, Andrew Cochrane, and Kathleen Vescelus.
Eric was a talented musician and composer. He graduated from Florida State University with his bachelor’s degree in music education. He was the music teacher and choir director for Sacred Heart Cathedral School in Pensacola, FL. He served as Director of Music Ministries at Resurrection Catholic Church in Destin, FL. He wrote his own rendition of the Ava Maria, which he performed with the McLean Symphony in VA. He founded and ran his own business, A Helping Hand Massage Therapy.
Eric was well known for his humor, especially his puns and the “famous” Pletcher Thanksgiving Turkey song.
Eric always had a strong faith and a deep devotion to the Virgin Mary. He was a kind and loving person who will be missed by all who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Rd, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN.
