Eric D Wickizer, Sr.

Eric Douglas Wickizer Sr., 58, of Lakeville, passed away in his home April 30, 2022. Eric was born September 25, 1963, in South Bend, IN to Larry and Margaret (Hadary) Wickizer.

On September 2, 1989, he married the love of his life Martha (Marty) Gorka. He is survived by his loving wife Marty of 32 amazing years, along with his five sons Wesley (Lisa) Wickizer, Eric Wickizer Jr., Tyler Wickizer, Travis Wickizer and Trevor Wickizer all of Lakeville. Eric was Papa to 9 wonderful grandchildren, Alyvia, Kaleb, Gavin, Dominic, Caydn, Kennedy, Carter, Lillian and Layton. Also surviving, his brother Kirk Wickizer and sisters Carla and Marla. Along with father and mother-in-law Edmund and Geraldine Gorka, Sister-in-law Christina (David) Olmstead, Pamela (Jeffery) Urbanski, and brother-in-law Gerald (Kelly) Gorka, and many nieces and nephews. Eric was proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents (Richard and Lillian Stoll).

      Eric was a graduate of Lasalle High School, class of 1982. After graduating he worked at Nimet Industries for 17 years, where he met the love of his loving wife and many good lifelong friends. In 1998 he joined the IBEW153 along with his father and brother. Along the way he met many great friends and overcame many obstacles before retiring with 24 years of service. Eric was a hard-working man and instilled his work ethic in his sons.

     Eric had many hobbies including his huge collection of hot wheels, beer steins and tools. He had an over-the-top love for Halloween and Christmas, along with cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed spending his time coaching and supporting his kids over the years. His greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Palmer Funeral Home within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 North Michigan Street, Lakeville.
