Eric (Ric) Wade, age 69, passed away peacefully on November 28th at Ernestine M. Raclin House after a 7 year battle with Alzheimer's. Ric is survived by his loving spouse, Lynn (Hull) Wade of 49 years, his children, Erica (Nate) Andis, Kevin (Alison) Wade, and Randa (Steve) Preihs, and his grandchildren, Cody and Ethan Andis, Jenna, Dean, and Colin Wade, and Sawyer Preihs, his sister Vicki (Jim) Jernigan, and brother Doug (Cindy) Wade. He is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Robert (Bob) Wade.
Ric lived his life to the fullest, always doing things full force, whether it was for the family concessions, Wade’s Pan Pizza, snowmobiling, hiking, camping, dancing and singing to Elton John, or being a husband, dad, and grandpa. He never knew a stranger and was always there to help and support his family and friends.
Instead of a memorial service, we all know Ric loved a good party. There will be an open house style celebration of life (aka party) at The Landing (2801 S. Michigan St. South Bend), on Saturday, December 6th from 4pm-8pm. Please ‘don’t let the sun go down on’ Ric and come share a favorite memory or story you have of him.
Memorial contributions in Ric’s name may be made to Hospice Foundation - Raclin House, 501 Comfort Pl., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel is assisting the family. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
