Erik Tjaden Obituary

Erik C. Tjaden, 36, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, June 22 at his home. He was born August 13, 1984 in South Bend to Diane (Praklet) and Cordell "Marc" Tjaden.

Erik was a proud graduate of both Mishawaka High School and Purdue University. He was joyfully employed as a Consultant at Moser Consulting, where he and his co-workers were recently named Employees of the Month. He had previously put his endless knowledge of college fantasy football to use as a writer at CFFInsider.com and was also published at CBS Sports.  Erik loved sports, car shows, hiking, bird watching, and expressing himself through excellent cooking. He adored his wife, Kristen, and their beloved Blue Heeler dog, Ruby. Erik was the funniest person in the room and the first to help a friend or stranger in need. He was a devoted husband, brother, son, and friend, and he is greatly missed.

Erik took great comfort in the lyrics of his favorite hymn, Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing:

Jesus sought me when a stranger

Wandering from the fold of God

He to rescue me from danger

Interposed His precious blood

On May 30, 2010 in Mitchell, IN, Erik married the love of his life, Kristen Kelly, at Spring Mill State Park. He is also survived by his mother, Diane Tjaden of Mishawaka; his sisters, Cheyenne (Stephen) Price  of Granger and Marijon Hundt of South Bend; brothers, Travis (Kathleen) Hundt of Virginia and Edward (Samantha) Tjaden of Wylie, Texas; nephews, Orion Tjaden and Gwilym Newman. He was preceded in death by his beautiful twin sister, Erika Tjaden.
