Erika Adamovsky, 88, of South Bend passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at StoryPoint Granger. She was born August 9, 1932 in Bytom, Germany to Joseph and Anna Klappauf. On November 23, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, she married the love of her life, Adolf Adamovsky, who preceded her in death on June 27, 2019.
Surviving are two daughters, Doris (Patrick) Portolese and Heidi Adamovsky; two grandchildren, Ashley (Erik) Portolese-Miller and Gina (Dawson Brown) Portolese; two great-grandchildren, Maverik and Frederik Miller. In addition to her parents and husband, Adolf, Erika is preceded by her parents, Joseph and Anna Klappauf.
Erika enjoyed taking care of her husband who she loved dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed as she was a very sweet person and had a very loving nature about her. She was an excellent homemaker, cook, and baker. She enjoyed being a passenger in the Harley Davidson motorcycle sidecar where she and her husband would travel to upper Michigan to take in the sights. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee with a sweet pastry. Erika was an avid gardener and a lover of all things Jane Austen.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46545 from 4-6 PM. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM at the funeral home with Michael Portolese officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Erika may be made to the Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
