Evelyn L. Lappin

Evelyn L. Lappin, 96, of Plymouth, IN, formerly of North Liberty, IN, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth.  She was born on October 15, 1919 in LaPaz, IN to the late Elmer and Jennie (Seltenright) Berger.  On April 13, 1941 in LaPaz, IN, she married Perle M. Lappin who preceded her in November 1994.

Mrs. Lappin is survived by her children, Alice M. (Robert) Tepel of Santa Jose, CA, Janeice A. (Jack) Sherrick of Lighthouse Point, FL, Judith L. (Steve) Overmyer of South Bend, IN, William E. (Judy) Lappin of North Liberty, IN, Phillip M. Lappin of Lakeville, IN, Robert K. (Laura) Lappin of Plymouth, IN, David A. Lappin of North Liberty, IN, James A. (Brenda) Lappin of Ft. Worth, TX and Ronald R. (Charlene) Lappin of Winterville, NC; twenty-three grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by three grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters. 

Mrs. Lappin was a lifelong area resident moving to North Liberty in 1954 from LaPaz.  She had many occupations during her lifetime.  She was a beautician, she delivered door to door eggs, produce and chickens in South Bend for twenty-two years where she was known at the "Egg Lady".  She also worked as a dairy farmer's wife and at Wirecraft in Lakeville.  Mrs. Lappin was a charter member of the United Pentecostal Church in North Liberty, devoted Sunday School teacher, bible study and a fundraiser leader.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at the United Pentecostal Church, Walkerton.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday in the Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main Street, North Liberty, IN and one hour prior to the services at church on Friday.
