Frankie Baskin, 75, lifelong South Bend resident, passed away unexpectedly at 6:12 AM on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at her residence. She was born on March 21, 1946 to Frank and Annie Lee Duff.
On July 12, 1969, in South Bend, Frankie married Robert Baskin, Jr., who survives. In addition to her loving husband of 51 years, she is survived by her daughter, Dee Baskin of Minnesota; sister Bessie Lee Cousette of Birmingham, AL; father-in-law Robert Baskin, Sr. of South Bend, IN; sister-in-law Mary Lomax Cousette of Morven, NC; as well as a host of extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Essie B. Thomas, Gertrude Gilkey, Alma T. Martin and a brother, L.D. Cousette.
Frankie was a long-time member of New Life Fellowship Ministry in South Bend. She was a graduate of Druid High School in Tuscaloosa, AL. Frankie was an excellent cook and worked in food services doing what she loved – cooking. She spent time nurturing and sharing stories with her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her friends and family.
Services for Frankie will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Homes – West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, IN 46628. Friends may call on the family for visitation for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Pastor Charles Harris to officiate.
